As we count down to Easter, we are reminded of our own experience with Christ. The Apostle Peter wrote, “For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. He was chosen before the foundation of the world but was revealed at the end of the times for you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God” (1 Peter 1:18-21 HCSB).

Isn’t this why we sing “Hallelujah!” We greet one another with “Jesus is alive!” We participate in special services like Maundy Thursday, Way of the Cross processionals, communion, and special musical and worship experiences. Our gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice cannot be restrained in anticipation of Easter Sunday and the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.

Jason C. Dukes in his new book, Live Sent, You Are a Letter, writes, “The Sender (God) delivered His message to us and then writes His message in us and through us for us to deliver to others. He sends us. We are His letter of love into the culture around us to the people whom He loved enough to die for. He asks us now to love in the same way.”

Isn’t loving in the same way accomplished by sharing with others the story of our own encounter with Christ and what Christ has done in our lives? Is there any better way to love others?”

I hope you enjoy Joanne Cash, the sister of Johnny Cash, sharing her story in this video from the American Bible Society.  Your story may not be recorded for broadcast, but you can tell it. Begin at home with family and friends. Then tell your story on Facebook, via Twitter, and wherever your day may take you. Let the celebration begin!
