This Sunday my Bible study class will celebrate the blessed assurance we have in Christ who not only paid the price for our salvation, but also conquered death, both physical death and spiritual death. The unlimited blessings of following Christ as Savior include a personal relationship with God, victory over sin, hope for eternal life, and assurance that gives me confidence in every aspect of life.
Through the years I have discovered that the assurance of salvation we have in Christ is unique and real. In fact, it is sad to realize how many choose to live with no assurance of their future. My LDS women friends wait to see if their husbands will lift the veil and invite them into heaven. The Jehovah Witnesses don’t know who the 144,000 saved will be, and work in hopes that they might be good enough to be one of them. Others have no access to hope and no thought that assurance is a conceivable option.
But in Christ, there is absolute assurance. If you happen on this blog today, consider your personal assurance of the future. What are you holding onto? Why go another day without the assurance God longs to give you in His Son Jesus Christ?
