Have you decided what to wear today? If we have a closet full of clothes, our choice is often determined by what we know we’ll be doing during the day. From beach clothes to sweat shirts, jeans to evening dresses, we dress for the activities we want to accomplish.
Getting prepared for the day involves more than what we wear. Whatever our plans, the only assurance that we will finish the day successfully, is to follow God’s plans for us, and allow Him to equip us for what lies ahead.
Sharon Norris Elliott, www.LifeThatMatters.net, writes about this in her new book, Power Suit: The Armor of God Fit for the Feminine Frame. I asked Sharon to give us the story behind this topic, and this is what she explained.

The idea for Power Suit came about as I noticed Christian women struggling to win the spiritual battles in which we are embroiled.
- Kayla isn’t sure about the existence of absolute truth since her philosophy teacher doesn’t believe in it and he’s written ten books.
- Patricia thinks it’s okay to smoke a little pot and have sex with the nice guy down the hall in her co-ed dorm. Marijuana’s just a natural herb that’s okay now for medicinal purposes, and Alex is simply a “friend with benefits.”
- Ellen can’t decide if she should actually submit to her husband; after all, this is 2011, not 42 AD.
- Beth has given up on being able to sleep through the night. There’s no peace in her life and probably never will be.
- Zelda believes faith is nice but not really practical to lean on in the modern world.
The enemy has engaged us in hand-to-hand combat over the veracity of the Bible’s claims, causing us to debate with him over questions such as what is truth, how can I live righteously in such an unrighteous world, is peace in this chaotic world really possible, and can faith really shield me.
I saw that women were losing their battles and I asked why. The answer? We’ve got junk underneath the armor of God—the Power Suit God has supplied for us to wear into the fray. Power Suit: The Armor of God Fit for the Feminine Frame helps us detect Satan’s tactics aimed at weakening our faith, and points out what we need to take off before we can properly fit into the armor that will protect us and help us to start winning.
For every woman wanting to experience spiritual success, Power Suit provides a comprehensive guide to dress for success.
