If you haven’t met Kathy Howard, or invited her to speak at your women’s event, I encourage you to discover this brilliant Bible teacher whose Bible studies minister to women who hunger for a vibrant faith that brings joy to every day living. From the time I met Kathy she had a deep commitment to her faith in Christ as well as exceptional speaking and teaching skills.

Kathy traveled with me to Russia right after the fall of Communism. Only a few women had the courage to take the gospel to the streets of Moscow where a few days earlier tanks had rolled through the city and people had died. But she along with 25 other women and one man delivered 70,000 Russian New Testaments to people who longed to hold God’s Word in their hands again. From street evangelism to holding an evangelistic event in Red Square, Kathy and my team brought Good News in the midst of new freedoms.

I asked Kathy to tell why she wrote her new Bible study, Unshakable Faith. She is available to teach this as well as her other studies. You can visit her personal website at http://www.kathyhoward.org/.

Unshakable Faith

by Kathy Howard

Over the last few years, many Christian women I love and admire have endured difficult circumstances such as life-threatening illness, divorce, death of a child, and financial hardship. The quality of their faith significantly affected how they endured these trials and how God worked in them for His glory. God strengthened and guided them through their close relationship with Jesus.

Their experiences made me wonder how I would do in the same circumstances. Like most women, I manage to juggle the everyday things of life – work, family, ministry, and home life – without too much difficulty. But sometimes, even in just a small crisis, my self-sufficiency is shaken. Would I stand firm in really hard times or would these trials knock me flat?

God pointed me to the life of the apostle Peter. On the night Jesus was betrayed, Peter impulsively declared he would go with Jesus to prison and even death. Yet just hours later, he fled the garden and fearfully denied even knowing Jesus. But thirty years and many experiences after that, during Nero’s persecution of Christians in Rome, Peter boldly died for his faith in Christ.

What made the difference? Through Peter’s relationship with Jesus, God grew and strengthened his faith. Peter’s faith went from shaky to unshakeable. That’s what I want – a faith that is strong enough to weather anything God allows into my life. I want to stand firm in all circumstances so God can use my life for His purposes and His glory.

Unshakeable Faith shares what God taught me through Peter’s life and teachings. Readers will discover eight “faith traits” God instilled in him to produce an unshakeable faith that would weather every storm. My desire is that God will use this study to help other women stand firm when trials come.
